Therapeutic Actions
Medical microneedling has several therapeutic actions, including:
- Management of atrophic scarring
- Improvement of rhytids (wrinkles)
- Addressing some forms of dyschromia (pigmentation)
- Improvement of overall skin texture and tone
- Aiding the management of skin laxity
The Mechanism of Medical Microneedling
Medical microneedling is a procedure that creates controlled micro-injuries in the skin using fine, sterile needles. This action initiates the body’s natural wound-healing cascade. This process stimulates the production of new collagen and elastin, which in turn improves the skin’s structural integrity and texture.

FAQs For Micro-needling
What is the expected timeline for clinical effects?
Immediately after the procedure, you will experience moderate erythema (redness), similar in appearance to a sunburn. Your skin may also feel warm. These effects typically subside within a few hours, with minor redness possibly remaining into the next day.
The treatment initiates a natural healing cascade within the dermis, leading to the formation of new collagen and tissue. This physiological process takes time. Measurable changes to the skin are typically observed from six weeks post-treatment, with continued improvement over the following months as the dermal matrix remodels. This provides a sustained therapeutic effect.
Following the micro-needling treatment your body will start to naturally regenerate and repair the skin, working below the surface in the dermis. This takes time as new collagen is formed, new skin cells are generated and blood supply enhanced. It can take up to six weeks before visible signs of regeneration and repair are seen, and the process will continue over the following months, providing you with a natural and long-lasting enhancement.
How many treatments are required?
A course of three medical microneedling sessions, spaced four to six weeks apart, is typically recommended. For managing certain conditions, such as significant atrophic scarring or striae (stretch marks), an extended treatment course may be indicated.
Before deciding on any treatment or procedure, we want you to be fully informed about the products we use. Rejuvenating Solutions only use products that have been extensively researched and tested, products which are backed by science-based results and have a proven track record.
