Acne Treatments At Rejuvenating Solutions

Treating acne

We have various methods we can employ to treat acne. Which methods we recommend to tackle your acne will depend on the type of acne you currently have, its severity, your medical history, and the history of your particular case.  We may suggest one or more of the following treatments:

ENDYMED

A highly successful treatment option for both active acne and acne scars is ENDYMED Intensif. With the use of cutting-edge radiofrequency technology, this ground-breaking therapy pinpoints and treats the root causes of acne outbreaks.

Through the controlled energy delivery deep into the skin, ENDYMED Intensif encourages collagen formation and skin renewal, significantly reducing acne and improving the look of acne scars. This non-invasive treatment method is the best alternative for people who want clearer, smoother, and healthier-looking skin because it addresses the apparent signs of acne and stops new breakouts.

ENDYMED Intensif provides a holistic treatment that can aid in restoring a patient’s skin, whether they are dealing with active acne or the effects of acne scarring.

IPL

IPL (Intense Pulse Light) is a type of laser treatment used to treat acne and acne scarring. It works by delivering rapid, high-intensity pulsed light. The precise wavelengths of light target the bacteria that cause acne. IPL can also reduce redness and improve the appearance of acne scars. Depending on the severity of your acne, multiple treatments may be required for optimum results.

Dermalux LED Phototherapy

LED Phototherapy has been used for some time for its healing and anti-inflammatory properties. Dermalux LED Phototherapy is a type of light therapy used to treat acne. Specific combinations of blue, red and near-infrared light reduce inflammation and kill the bacteria that cause acne. It can also reduce redness, improve skin texture and reduce the appearance of acne scars.

Medical skin peels

Medical skin peels are used to reduce the appearance of acne. They contain a combination of non-toxic acids and work by removing the top layer of skin, which helps to reduce redness and inflammation. They can also reduce the appearance of acne scars. Superficial and medium peels have been known to reduce mild to moderate acne.

HydraFacial

HydraFacial is a type of facial treatment that uses a special machine to cleanse, exfoliate and hydrate the skin. The HydraFacial machine is designed to address the issues of excess dead skin cells, sebum, and blocked pores, Some of the causes of acne breakouts.

Dermal Needling

Dermal Needling, also known as microneedling, is a type of treatment used to improve the appearance of various skin imperfections, including acne scars. It works by using tiny needles to stimulate the skin’s natural healing process, which helps to reduce the appearance of scars. Dermal needling is not suitable for active acne or cystic acne.

Obagi Medical Skin Care

Obagi Medical Skin Care products include a range suitable for acne-prone skin. They work by exfoliating the skin, reducing inflammation, and helping to keep the skin clear of bacteria by way of removing excess oils. Once your acne is cleared, we will suggest which products you should use to give you the best chance of reducing future breakouts.

The causes of acne

1. Excess Sebum Production:

One significant cause of acne is the overproduction of sebum, the skin’s natural oil. Hormonal fluctuations, particularly during puberty, can trigger the sebaceous glands to produce excessive oil. When sebum production goes into overdrive, it can intermix with dead skin cells, forming blockages within hair follicles.

2. Clogged Hair Follicles:

Blocked hair follicles are pivotal in developing acne lesions, such as black and whiteheads. Blackheads emerge when the follicle’s opening remains unclogged, while whiteheads form when the opening experiences partial blockage. This obstruction arises due to the accumulation of sebum and dead skin cells, resulting in non-inflammatory acne manifestations.

3. Bacterial Overgrowth:

Propionibacterium acnes, a type of bacteria naturally residing on the skin, can proliferate within clogged hair follicles. As these bacteria multiply, they instigate inflammation and contribute to the formation of inflammatory acne lesions. Papules, pustules, and nodules are examples of such lesions triggered by the presence of these bacteria.

4. Hormonal Factors:

Hormonal changes significantly influence sebum production and contribute to the onset of acne. Puberty, menstrual cycles, and hormonal imbalances can all affect the skin’s oil production. Androgens, a type of hormone, stimulate the sebaceous glands, resulting in an increased output of oil, which can ultimately lead to the development of acne.

5. Genetic Predisposition:

Acne can have a genetic predisposition, meaning that individuals with a family history of acne are more susceptible to experiencing it themselves. Genetic factors can influence skin response to hormonal fluctuations and sebum production. Understanding your genetic predisposition can provide valuable insights into managing and preventing acne effectively.

Environmental Factors:

Certain environmental factors can exacerbate acne or trigger flare-ups. These include exposure to high humidity levels, pollution, certain cosmetics or skincare products that clog pores, and friction or pressure on the skin from helmets, hats, or tight clothing.
