Facial Volume Loss

Facial volume loss is a multifactorial aspect of the physiological ageing process. It involves changes to the underlying anatomy, including bone resorption, the migration and depletion of deep fat pads, and the thinning of the dermal layer.
These structural changes can lead to a loss of support in areas such as the cheeks, temples, and periorbital region.

Understanding Facial Volume Loss

Facial volume loss is a multifactorial process affecting multiple tissue layers. It is caused by a reduction in dermal thickness due to decreased collagen and elastin production, the deflation and descent of deep facial fat compartments, and changes to the underlying bony structure. These combined anatomical changes result in a loss of structural support for the overlying skin.

Our Clinical Approach to Managing Facial Volume Loss

We provide several medical protocols to manage facial volume loss. Following a thorough clinical assessment, a treatment plan is created based on your specific diagnosis. Our therapies are designed to address volume deficits and improve the structural integrity of the skin.

Dermal Restoration Therapy

These injectable treatments are used to address volume deficits in specific anatomical areas. They work by providing immediate structural support to tissues that have lost volume, which helps to manage the clinical presentation of skin laxity.

RF Microneedling with Endymed

This procedure combines mechanical stimulation (microneedling) with thermal energy (radiofrequency). This dual action initiates a significant collagen remodelling process, which helps to improve skin density and manage textural changes associated with volume loss.

Biostimulatory Treatments (Sculptra)

Sculptra is a medical treatment that works by initiating the body’s own process of neocollagenesis. This leads to a gradual restoration of dermal thickness over several months, which helps to address volume deficits and manage the clinical presentation of deep rhytids (wrinkles).

Personalised Treatment Protocols

We provide a range of minimally invasive treatments indicated for managing facial volume loss. During your medical consultation, our practitioner will conduct a full assessment and create a personalised treatment plan based on your clinical diagnosis.
